LIT and CIT Programs

The LIT (Leaders in Training) and CIT (Counselor in Training) programs give teens and tweens opportunities to be with their peers and with leaders who also reflect the diverse identities that span our multicultural community, and have power and agency in relation to understanding and protecting the land.

Leaders in Training are expected to attend leadership training classes during summer programming hours. They will also support younger students in their program activities. This leadership training program for LITs is a requirement of the LIT program.  If your child is a rising sixth, seventh, or eighth grader, they will be entering the LIT program and will be required to participate in the LIT program.

LITs are youth in grades 6-8.

Counselors in Training are expected to attend leadership training classes during summer programming hours. They will also support younger students in their program activities. This leadership training programming for CITs is a requirement of the CIT program.  If your child is a rising  9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grader, they will be entering the CIT program and will be required to participate in the CIT program.

CITs are youth in grades 11-12.

Junior CITs are youth in grades 9-10.

Both groups will engage in leadership and wildlife stewardship training courses within their cohorts and spend part of every day shepherding younger youth in their nature-based learning activity.
