In partnership with Garden’s Edge, The Learning Farm is hosting a gathering on Sunday the 18th at 2:30 pm to celebrate the Amaranth Harvest.

Julian Vasquez Chun, a Maya Achi Farmer, will be returning here from Guatemala for the Amaranth seed harvest along with Valentina Chay, Maya Quiché and Achi, and Guillermo Vasquez, founder of Indigenous Permaculture, a community garden in Oakland, CA, to share their stories of building resilience through traditional medicine, ancestral agricultural practices, seed saving, and water restoration.

We will all learn how to clean and pop amaranth seeds and have the opportunity to connect with the Seed Travels delegation. We look forward to seeing you all.
